After attending to the 20Books Conference last November, I left with a sense of optimism that direct sales could restore my book sales.

No more depending on Amazon’s capricious algorithm. Just sell my books like any other product. It sounded ideal and I dedicated myself to the challenge.

Selling direct has been great for many authors. I heard from them at the conference; I’ve heard from others on social media. They did it. I could do it too.

Unfortunately, it didn’t work out as I’d hoped and I pulled the plug after two months. Why not wait it out? Let’s go through it.
